The sun sets,
On another shattered reality.
Life as I know it,
Destroyed within minutes.
As I ride the train home,
Cheeks stained with tears,
No one looks twice,
No one interferes.
In this world,
One tries to grasp,
The light of hope,
Of dreams and wishes.
It is so easily smothered,
By ashes of doubt,
By smoke of fear,
By blinding darkness of despair.
How does one keep finding,
The light within the dark,
When all attemps of location,
Are lost in the void?
Still, people keep trying,
They walk through the waves,
The ocean of darkness,
Of despair, of shattered dreams.
The sun sets on one day,
It rises on the next,
The torchlight only flickers off,
When people turn off the power.
So, I cry myself to sleep,
I wake in the morning,
I wash my face,
And greet the new horizon.
Despite everything,
I hope, for a new begining,
I dream, of finding a dream,
I believe in the Light.
O great sun in the sky,
Ultimate form of Light,
Guide me to tomorrow.
Guide me to a dream.
